Review Asus Lamborghini VX2

The good: Solid construction; leather detailing; cool branded extras.
The bad: Kind of slow for a laptop named after a race car; expensive; poor battery life.
The bottom line: The Asus Lamborghini VX3 is the laptop recast as status symbol. It looks and feels like a luxury item; we just wish it had a bit more power under the hood.
Introduction
Asus started with their Lamborghini models 6 months ago and VX2s is the third version of this series. From the outside this machine looks same as the VX1s, but under the hood a lot of things have changed. What’s new in this version is Intel’s update with new processor, chipset, network card and Intel Turbo Memory.
The graphic card comes from Nvidia with DirectX10 support. Geforce8600M GT with 512 MB memory gives this PC very good graphics.
Design
You can choose between a yellow and a hot carbon fiber pattern look on this laptop. This machine is very solid no matter how you look at it, they keyboard is very good and have a quiet clicking sound. The mouse pad got a little bit strange shape its wide on the top, but gets smaller the further you go down. Asus also placed some shortcut buttons above the keyboard. These are for activation and deactivation of the wireless network, bluetooth, and intern mouse. You can also find a button for media and power saving properties. With this machine you also get a rotating webcam on 1,3 MP and a inbuilt microphone.
Screen
The screen is very blank and shiny, and got a nice resolution of 1680x1050. The brightness and the contrast is very good, I really like this screen. The fan makes a lot of noise, but even the computer working hard or its in standby mode it don’t make any more or noise .
Performance
The model is not so much different compared to the older version in the Lamborghini series. The new CPU from Intel and the good graphic card are the two biggest updates. This version uses a Geforce 8600M-GT, the old version only got a Geforce Go 7700. Even though this version got a Geforce 8600M-GT it does not score much higher points on the different 3dmark tests, but remember this card supports DirectX10, something Geforce Go 7700 don’t. When we tried Doom 3 on this machine we had around 94 FPS, and on 3dmark 2006 we got 3207 in score.
We managed to watch DVD movies for 3 whole hours before the battery’s was dead, this should be enough for most movies.
Pros
+ A lot of connection facilities
+ High quality screen
+ Good performance
+ A lot of accessories
Cons
-Expensive
-The graphic could have been little bit better
- This laptop should have supported Blu-ray or HD DVD
- Very noisy fan

Asus Eee PC 1000HE
Full review of Asus Eee PC 1000HEAsus started the netbook craze with its tiny, 7-inch Eee PC. Shortly thereafter, every notebook manufacturer except Apple produced at least one tiny and inexpensive laptop just like it. Nowadays, netbooks are not that tiny anymore - little by little they have increased in size from 7" via 9" and now the standard screen size of a netbook is 10 inches. Even a couple of 12-inch models have been released.
HardwareWhat they all have in common is the hardware - with a few deviations it consists of an Intel Atom CPU at 1.6GHz, 1GB or RAM, a 160GB hard drive and integrated GMA950 graphics. The Eee PC, however, has been upgraded with an ever so slightly faster 1.66GHz Atom processor and a higher 667MHz FSB speed instead of earlier models which had 533MHz.
The speed increase is not big enough to be noticeable, but you might feel better purchasing an upgraded model. Asus main selling point with the 1000HE is the battery life. According to the manufacturer, you should be able to keep it alive for 9.5 hours without resorting to an outlet. To achieve this formidable battery life, you need to use aggressive power-saving schemes, no Wi-Fi and turn the brightness all the way down. In our general usage test it still delivered more than 7 hours, which is still more than acceptable.
Design
As far as the design goes, the Eee PC 1000 HE stays with the concept weve seen in previous Eee netbooks. The keyboard is almost full size (92%) and the trackpad buttons are slightly tilted in the front. The entire casing of the netbook is glossy, which enhances the overall look but also attracts fingerprints easily.
On the whole, the design of the 1000HE focuses on usability; its not spectacularly thin like some of its siblings, such as Asus S101 netbook, but it certainly gets the job done with flying colors. Besides, keeping the design simple also helps keep the price to a minimum, which is often the deciding factor for a netbook buyer.
Connectivity and Features
The ports have been placed on the left- and right-hand sides of the laptop - none at the back. On the right is a memory card reader, 2 USB and VGA and on the left is another USB port, Ethernet, and audio line in/out.
Summary
While there are better looking netbooks on the market, the Eee PC 1000HE comes at a very attractive price point and offers excellent battery life. Its also very easy to use thanks to the large keyboard, and has all the features that the competition offer plus a little extra. Combine these aspects and you have one of the best netbooks currently available.

ASUS N53JF

The market for 15-inch laptops might be pretty packed, but the ASUS N53JF-XE1 with its powerful Intel Core i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics packs more punch than the competition. Did we mention it also has a 1080p screen? Read our review to find out more.
The specifications of our review unit of the ASUS N53JF (N53JF-XE1) are as follows:
* 15.6-inch 720p (1920x1080) glossy panel with LED backlighting
* Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
* Intel Core i5-460M dual-core processor (2.53GHz/2.8GHz Turbo Mode)
* Intel HM55 chipset
* Switchable graphics via Nvidia Optimus technology:
o Nvidia GeForce GT 425M w/ 1GB DDR3 video memory
o Integrated Intel HD graphics
* 4GB DDR3-1066 dual-channel RAM (2x 2GB)
* 500GB 7200RPM Seagate hard drive (ST9500420AS)
* Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN
* Blu-ray reader/DVD burner combo drive
* 1-year global limited warranty w/ 1 year accidental damage coverage
* 6-cell Li-ion battery (48Wh)
* Weight: 6.5 lbs.
* Dimensions: 15.6” (L) x 10.6” (D) x 1.65” (H)
* MSRP: $1,049
Overall, the ASUS N53JF-XE1 is a pretty well-equipped notebook that competes well against systems like the Dell XPS 15, HP ENVY 14 and Lenovo IdeaPad Y560D. It isnt too often that youll find a 15-inch laptop with a 1080p display, powerful processor and graphics, and even a USB 3.0 port for a street price of just over $1,000.
Build and Design
The N53JF has a fairly typical notebook clamshell design with a mixture of black, charcoal and silver plastics and aluminum. The only notable design feature that really catches our eyes is the massive speaker grill located below the screen after you open the lid. Not only is this a great location for speakers compared to many of the newest laptops with speakers located on the bottom of the notebook, but its clear that ASUS designers want people to pay attention to these speakers (more on that later in this review).
The build quality of the N53JF is nothing short of excellent. From the simple yet stylish aluminum screen lid to the surprisingly ridgid chassis, this is one of the most solid notebooks in the 15-inch multimedia laptop category. Many cheaper notebooks in this class suffer from questionable structural support (you can literally "bend" those low-cost notebook by twisting them between your hands) but ASUS clearly engineered the the N53JF to handle daily use and abuse. The lid resists flexing as well thanks to its aluminum backing; no ripples appear on the screen when pushed in from behind either. Fit and finish is also quite good; there are minimal gaps between parts and no unfinished edges. The Blu-ray drive in our review sample looked ever so slightly misaligned with the chassis, but I doubt most owners would ever notice a cosmetic minor detail like that.
Speaking of subtle cosmetic details, I want to draw your attention to a simple security feature that ASUS was smart enough to include on the N53JF: a security lens cover. It seems like every year since new laptops started shipping with a built-in webcams we read news reports here in the US about someone illegally using a notebook webcam to spy on people without their knowledge. ASUS was paying attention to those news stories as well and developed a simple plastic cover that you can slide over the webcam lens to prevent people from watching you. This is such a easy thing to do that were amazed every notebook manufacturer isnt doing this. Yes, you can open up Windows Device Manager and disable your webcam, but the overwhelming majority of consumers arent tech savvy enough to do that. The ASUS security lens cover makes it much easier to protect your privacy.
Weighing in at roughly six and a half pounds (not including the power adapter) the N53JF is hardly the lightest notebook in its class. The 15-inch Dell Inspiron 15R tips the scales at well under six pounds and the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560D weoighs just 5.95 pounds by comparison. It is also thicker than usual at 1.65 inches (roughly a quarter of an inch thicker than the competition).
Keyboard and Touchpad
The N53JF has an traditional-style keyboard with some non-traditional elements. For starters, the keys are essentially flat similar to the island/Chiclet-style keyboards which are becoming far more popular these days. ASUS was kind enough to include a dedicated number pad to the right of the keyboard for those data-entry junkies out there, but since the number pad needs to fit in the smaller footprint of a 15-inch notebook the number pad is a little too close to the main keyboard keys and also gets in the way of the arrow keys. The keyboard keys themselves also have "mushy" feedback when pressed and the entire keyboard flexs or bends under heavy typing pressure.
Im a little sad to see that ASUS didnt include a backlit keyboard on this notebook. Most multimedia systems in this price range now have keyboards with LED backlighting to make it easier to see the keys in dim environments. Since were starting to see a few $700 notebooks with backlit keyboards it seems a bit odd that the N53JF doesnt have one.
The Elan touchpad has a matte surface similar to the texture the aluminum lid but with a darker color to match the palmrests. The surface makes it easy to slide your fingertips across the touchpad even with moist or dry fingers. Responsiveness seemed normal with minimal lag during cursor movement. The buttons provide excellent feedback however make a distinct click when pressed but there is no separation between the left and right touchpad buttons on the rocker bar. This means that its fairly easy to press the wrong side of the touchpad bar if you arent paying attention and make a right click when you want to make a left click.

Review ASUS UX21 Zenbook Slim and Fast
Intel as one of the originators in the computer industry states that ultrabook is the next evolution of the notebook product line. It is estimated, the future of portable computers are portable computers with physically thin, elegant, yet with high performance.
As one of the major players in the business notebook, Asus also has presented their ultrabook devices, one of them through Zenbook series. There are two prepared the UX21 and UX31. Physically, the two are similar. The difference is the screen size and processor.
Design and Features
One of the products that we try Zenbook, the UX21, equipped with an Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5-2467M which with the speed of 1.6 GHz and uses 4GB of RAM. He is using a screen measuring 11.6 inches with a resolution of up to 1366x768 pixels.
From the design, its very thin ultrabook. Tertebalnya point, which is at the back, less than 1 centimeter (cm). Casing the coating is also designed unibody alias notebook cover without separately. Its weight is light, only 1.1 kilograms.
Thin notebook body affected by the optical drive is not included. LAN or HDMI port is also provided if the dongle-dongle HDMI LAN and connected via USB. Although thin, UX21 still comfortable to use. The placement of the keys do not seem narrow and fitting. Similarly, for the palm rest area, quite spacious, and comfortable.
In the specification, these products are strong enough to live day-to-day computing activities. But, of course, Intel HD3000 graphics technology provided somewhat limiting its users to meet the needs of 3D gaming or other heavy applications.
However, if it is used to run a high-definition multimedia content up to 720p resolution, the graphics are available can do well. Interestingly, through this product, it is more pampered audio connoisseurs. For audio output, this product uses proprietary technology by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower.

For power supply, use the UX21 battery 8 Cell Li-Ion 6840mAh. To connect faster data transfer, on the right side there is a USB3.0 port that is also used to connect the USB2.0. Unfortunately not included card reader.
performance
Asus Zenbook using the SSD as a storage media for the operating system Windows 7 Home Premium is available. In addition to physical support to be used on a thin ultrabook, of course, the performance advantage SSDs are much faster than conventional hard drives.
It is indeed very pronounced, and when booting into Windows 7 operating system, it takes only about 17.59 seconds. To shutdown, in total only took 15.68 seconds. As for when returning from standby, it takes only 2.54 seconds.

New ASUS RS and TS Series Servers
New ASUS RS and TS Series Servers

These new RS and TS Series Servers (RS300-E7, RS100-E7, TS300-E7 and TS100-E7 servers) that are being used by ASUS allow a server-class networking, with easy remote management and an excellent data protection and these are ideal for data entry and customers who want a complete feature set, effortless operation and a better-quality cost-to-performance.

The TS Series Servers (RS300-E7, RS100-E7, TS300-E7 and TS100-E7 servers) use fault tolerance technology and handle huge traffic precisely. Network performance is greatly improved as the IPv6 readiness resolves the upcoming IPv4 address assignment issues.
With the ASUS Flex-E Technology, the TS300-E7 server allows users to use the product, interchanging it as either a workstation and/or a server. Users can switch from a single PCI-E x16 link (this is usually better for graphics cards) to 2 PCI-E x8 links (this is more suited for an I/O expansion). Using SAS as storage (instead of SATA), the new ASUS RS and TS Series Servers has the optional ASUS PIKE kits which include a slim-profile, flexible storage options via SAS RAID, maximizing I/O performance and data protection. In the same way, the optional ASMB5-iKVM upgrade kit allows users to use keyboard, video and mouse (KVM for Ethernet) for remote system access.
Additionally, the ASUS RS and TS Series Servers use 80+ power supplies, which diminish power loss and consumption, resulting in a lower power bill. They all comply with the EU´s Restriction on the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), and are designed while respecting the Energy Star requirements. This helps in protecting our environment.
The new the ASUS RS and TS Series Servers have a built-in virtualization support that allows the use of VMWare® ESXi, and reduces power consumption, cooling and space requirements and at the same time, allow users to experience the max of virtualization.
