5 Lakh K Series Engines Produced by Maruti

Maruti Suzuki Largest car maker in india annouced it has crossed the five-lakh units production mark K-series engine in less than 23 months. The K-series was first introduced in October 2008. K-series engines are available in seven models, including, Alto-K10, Wagon R, Swift, Ritz, Estilo, Swift Dzire and A-Star.



The company, currently, has a capacity of 500,000 K-series engines annually at its Gurgaon plant where the engines are manufactured. It had announced recently that it would expand production by an additional 200,000 engines by 2012. Maruti Suzuki produces two types of K-series engines -- 998cc and 1.2 litre. The 998cc three-cylinder K-series K10 engine is mounted on Alto-K10, A star, Estilo and new WagonR.
